Toy Story 5 Teaser Sets The Beloved Duo Versus a Tablet Computer

It has been 30 anniversary after the first Toy Story film debuted, establishing Pixar as a major animation studio and bringing audiences to beloved figures like Woody (the actor) and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), who are now famous worldwide.

In 2026, the fifth installment is scheduled for release. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, offering a glimpse into the plot but leaving viewers curious how it will address the conclusion of Toy Story 4.

The Latest Addition: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Spooks the Gang

In the teaser reveals the young girl — who inherited Andy's toys when he left for college — getting a brand new toy, one that alarms the familiar toy group. Bonnie gets her initial digital gadget, and she is excited about it.

Theoretically, the frog-shaped tablet will animate just like the rest of her playthings. Still, the toys seem to view it as a threat coming to replace them, which it likely will.

Woody's Return: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4

An element the trailer doesn't touch on is what the sheriff is back with his friends in Bonnie's room. The finale of Toy Story 4 depicted him embark on a fresh journey with Bo Peep (Annie Potts), journeying with a carnival and assisting giveaway items locate loving owners.

Surely, the filmmakers will explain the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Witnessing him show up in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is somewhat puzzling, however. It also makes us wonder whether Bo Peep will have come back with Woody. And where is Duke Caboom (Keanu Reeves)?

Continuity from the Previous Film

At the very least, some aspects are continuing from the earlier movie. The final act Woody did before departing for his new life was pass his sheriff badge to Jessie (Joan Cusack), entrusting her in charge of Bonnie's bedroom. In the teaser displays the insignia attached to her shirt.

Hopefully she is still the key figure among the group.
